THE DEVISED THEATRE WORKSHOP
New Threads Theatre Company is bringing a Devised Theatre Workshop to the Mountain Arts Community Center (Signal Mountain) this October 6–11—and we’d love for you to be part of it.
So, what is Devised Theatre?
Think of it as theatre made from scratch. Instead of starting with a finished script, a small group of actors come together to experiment, move, brainstorm, and build a brand-new performance from the ground up. It’s theatre that’s alive, collaborative, and full of discovery. The story emerges from the group’s creativity—making each production one-of-a-kind.
Here’s the breakdown of our workshop:
--October 6–10 (Evenings): 6:30–10:00pm
--October 11 (Full Day): 10:00am–6:00pm
--October 11 (Performance): 7:00pm (a special invited audience will get the very first look!)
Over one jam-packed week, you’ll join a small group of fellow actors under the guidance of the amazing Joe Frost (a total pro in devised theatre). Together, you’ll create a movement-and-text-based piece that will come alive in front of an audience on Saturday night.
